AKC has accepted the Biewer Terrier!!!

I know I put this on my front page but I keep forgetting to put it in the blog.  This week AKC voted to accept the Biewer Terrier into foundation stock.  This is a huge step for the BTCA.  The name will be Biewer Terrier and not Biewer Yorkie  or any of the other names that people call these names.  Of course we will all still abbreviate it to Biewer.

The BTCA is so excited! I knew the day would finally come, it has been eight years since I got my first Brewer and there has been a lot of changes in thoughts and unfortunately a lot of controversy. I have had many sad days losing my precious babies, but there has also been joy with the birth of each litter and families that are excited to finally get their new baby.

I have a Brookwood Biewer Terrier from Martin & Vickie Lewis & couldn't be more pleased with my baby Brie's development. This moment in history is truly the result of the tireless efforts of all the BTCA Breeders! When I first decided to adopt a Biewer, I didn't know which way to turn. I'm so pleased that I went with my gut & belief in the development of this breed. IMHO, a BTRA registered Biewer is the only way to go. Look for our Brie in the near future working as a therapy dog. She'll be helping a lot of humans in the near future. Thanks for all the hard work on this journey to acceptance!
